About Dr John:

My name is John T. Shokoff, DVM and I would like to introduce myself and my exclusively House Call Veterinary Practice delivering Top Quality In-Home Veterinary Care to pets in the Greater Binghamton & Greater Syracuse Areas.

I have been practicing, first in New Jersey and now in Upstate New York, since graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. I have practiced in nearly all settings, from urban to rural, large animals to small exotics, and from general practice to emergency medicine. In doing so, I have gained an immense amount of experience in both the medical and business sides of the field and have discovered what my idea of "Ideal Veterinary Care" is (you might call it a motto).

In essence, it is my desire To Provide The Highest Quality Veterinary Care To Each Patient (whether it is a Great Dane, a Siamese Cat or a Bearded Dragon), individually, in a professional, compassionate & economical fashion. It was only when I discovered the art of providing In-Home Veterinary Care that I realized how effectively I could bring this ideal to life!

Whether your best friends are Dogs, Cats, Reptiles, Birds, Ferrets, Rabbits, Pocket Pets, Sheep, Goats or even Tarantulas and whether they are in need of General Wellness Care (Physical Examination, Vaccinations, General Labwork such as Blood/Urine/Fecal Exams) OR require evaluation and/or treatment of an illness or injury, we can help!

When it is difficult for you get to the Veterinary Clinic due to a disability, an unruly dog or a gang of kids, now you can simply sit back, relax and let us come to you. Aside from the benefits you receive, your pets will thank you! I have known many pets (especially cats) whom would rather deal with the stress of a Veterinarian's visit in the comfort of their own home than in a foreign environment! Similarly, most exotic pets have a difficult time when transported from one place to another, especially during "extreme" weather.

As a family-run business with great interest in our community, it is our goal to provide the pets and pet-owners in our neighborhoods (and countrysides) with the care they deserve. We simply wish to provide you with another option that you may never have had available before. In today's hectic society, it is difficult enough to get through your "To-Do List" and it is often these options that can make it just that much easier!
