While Spring is here and that usually means the fleas & ticks start sneaking around, this year they are already here! This is because the mild winter we just had did not kill off these disgusting little pests like usual. As a result, we are entering their peak season with a population already much larger than usual and it is only going to multiply! If you haven't already, make sure you begin your pets' preventatives NOW so they are as protected as can be! We recommend Frontline Plus for all dogs & cats (even indoor pets can and do get fleas) and in cases where ticks are of greater concern we often add the benefit of a Preventic Collar to the regimen of our canine patients. This is NOT the typical over the counter white collars that you see in the pet stores (we do NOT recommend those) but instead it is a prescription grade preventative measure that should be discussed with your Veterinarian before use. We have had great success with preventing both fleas and ticks in our patients with these products so if you are having problems or need advice, let us know!
